Daytrip to the east coast

Daytrip to the east coast

Itinierary:

We meet you at our boat house in the sea area, where you will get your clothes and briefing before the trip starts. The route will depend on the weather and driving conditions. We drive east through the impressive valley Adventdalen towards Sassendalen, which is yet another huge valley cutting from east to west. We turn east through the magnificent Sassendalen and decide which route to take east depending on the conditions. Normally we cross Nordmannsfonna and drive down the glacier Usherbreen to Mohnbukta. Now we find ourselves on the deserted east coast where we will see powerful icebergs, glacier fronts and the remains of past polar-bear hunting! If we are lucky, we may even get a glimpse of the polar bear – the King of the Artic. We make several stops along the way and enjoy a hot lunch when we arrive.

Depending on time, weather and driving conditions, we will take a different route back to Longyearbyen. If there is time, we will also make a stop at our kennel about 12 kilometres outside Longyearbyen. Here you will get the opportunity to meet our powerful and exceptionally kind polar dogs. From here it is only about 15 minutes until we can stop and turn off the snowmobiles after an eventful and unforgettable day.
